FROM TRIKES TO BIKES...

and bicycle racing! My son just finished his first race - the HOTTER THAN YOU KNOW WHAT 100! Don't know why they named it that...there is no way I'm allowing him to wear that T-shirt to school!

Here's a pic of him training on a tandem with a friend of ours. You never know what you're going to get when you ask a 14 year old to join you on a bike ride. The first time out to train for the race, he quickly ate the breakfast of champions, you know, CHOCOLATE POP TARTS - and you can guess what happened. Not too far into it the whole group was stopped with him on the side of the road as he lost it all. Thankfully, Dad was in the group to comfort him....

I'M THINKING I'M GLAD I'M NOT A SERIOUS BICYCLIST AT THIS POINT! GREAT FATHER-SON ACTIVITY...

Hey....that's my Uncle Perry! I know what Hotter than race you're referring to. It's a family favorite. Well, no favorite of mine. :)

Wonder if he will change his breakfast next time? I have had several young ones loose their biscuits when they came to work out with me. I can't imagine the chocolate poptarts though!
