ODE TO EXERCISE CLASS...

or a brain exercise from teacher Elizabeth!

E
lizabeth's Exercise - or did someone say torture?
Lunging for 10 yards or more,
Is a wonderful,terrible hour
Zapping you to the core!
A class to challenge your body,
Balancing on the ball,
Entertaining the onlookers
Till the frog kicks turn 'em away!
Humiliating moves down the track
Shuffle left, shuffle right, she will say...

Every time you reach for that candy,
Xactly what you don't need,
Envision the new svelt body
Rewarding you with hard workouts!
Cause Elizabeth won't quit
I think she thinks I am 12,
She pushes you to the limit
Exerting you to your goal!

SENIOR PICTURE STORY...

Once upon a September, a highschool boy wanted to have some SWEET senior pictures. He didn't want to go to just any old studio, of course...thankfully we have a new relative, my niece-in-law, Courtney, just starting out in the photography business! She's willing to be dragged around downtown and take all kinds of interesting shots in cool places, like this alley shot...

We continue down the alleys of OKC and see an open garage door...with an awesome red door and chipped paint wall beside it. Courageous Courtney asks the creepy looking guy inside if we can take a few pictures. Thank goodness we escaped after a few shots...
We continued to drive around, looking for cool places to take pictures. Mom finally gets her way and we stop at this church to have some saintly shots taken. Don't you love this one with the stained glass window? Never mind there was a 12 foot drop underneath and he risked life and limb to get over there....

This one is really cool. He's an actor, and a singer. He loves being on stage. We could pretend he's on stage at a famous theatre, but it's all an illusion. It's in Journeyland at our church! If you like live theatre, come watch him as the lead in "The Crucible" Oct. 9 & 10!

Here's another one of my serious actor!

But this last one is my absolute favorite! It captures his casual smile and his personality! SWEET, don't you think? The End.

LIGHTBULB, HANGMAN'S NOOSE, POTTY SEAT...YOU VOTE!

So I've posted before about some of my volunteer Mom stuff...making locker signs to cheer on the kids in the play is one of my creative outlets! But I'm just not sure about this one...maybe I shouldn't cut the paper at all. Do you know what it's supposed to be? Hint: Google "The Crucible" and you'll figure it out...

$39 worth for $7...Woohoo!

Yes, this would've cost $39 at CVS for the ordinary customer, but not for me, the frugal mother with CVS card, coupons, and Extra Care Bucks in hand! Now I realize if I would've bought this at my regular discount grocery store, Crest, it would have only been $25, but I still saved a bundle and have ECB's in hand for next week. I'm getting a little weird, I guess. The first thing I look at in the Sunday paper now is the CVS flier!!!

COLLEGE LIFE IS ROUGH...

when you play soccer with a bunch of guys and take one out! Yes, my lovely daughter's first bit of news, besides going to one class of ADVERTISING, then promptly dropping it. Let's just say she's more comfortable around sporty types...

WHEN 30TH PLACE IS GOOD...

It's good when there's 140 other kids running! The top 50 received a medal and he got one of them! Yahoo! Sometimes you don't have to come in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd to be recognized. Cross-country running is a great sport with not a lot of pressure. You can go at your own pace and choose to push hard past the cramping, sweating, and fatigue, or NOT. I'm thankful for our coaches who push the boys just a little and cheer them on no matter how they finish.

GENA, THIS ONE'S FOR YOU...

So I picked up my son from his Cross Country practice today, and what does he have in his hand? A treasure he found while out on his run today! He said he liked looking at food while he was running! All I could think was, "Gena's favorite place...."LOL
