THE STORY OF A PACKRAT
For many, many, years, well really, my whole life, I wanted to be like my Grandmommie. She's been gone 26 years but the needlepoint skills, recipes, quilt, doll, shadowbox, and other things she made me are so precious to me. Then in college, my education teachers made an impact on me of how you could make something for your classroom out of nothing (egg cartons, pizza boxes, etc.). You MUST save this trash so you can create something with it! All this with my frugal ways lovingly taught by my own parents, and my desire to recycle and reuse things, and there you've got it...a PACKRAT!
This is me going through the attic stuff the last couple of weeks, and YES, this is now organized! Still needs lots of work but at least I know what's up there.
Old dolls I want to restore...
My kids memorabilia
Old t-shirts and jeans to make quilts from...
Lots of toys from 3 generations
Some other junk too
and a creepy clown mask (I actually wore this for Halloween when I was young)

I'm glad you're a packrat and especially sentimental about things. I love finding things that I have from the past and from the kids being little - and wish I had even more of those. I think it's really neat how many things you have from your parents and grandparents. Your children and grandchildren will really think that is special some day. BUT the paper-craft stuff...I'm with you....it gets to a point you can't keep it all. I've tried....am trying....and now trying to slowly change my ways. It's hard to get rid of stuff then need something like it soon after.
