OH, POUTINE...

Sorry I couldn't help it!  That title has been rolling around in my head a few days!

The Mule is a cool place with all kinds of fancy grilled cheese sandwiches.  I love grilled cheese, but their Okie Poutine is my favorite menu item!  Poutine, it turns out, is a Canadian dish with fries, cheese curds and brown gravy.  Okie style is with white gravy.  I decided to make some on my own...

Skipped the frozen bags of potatoes and made my own oven baked fries...

But I'm not so confident with my gravy making skills...I bought a mix.

Layer on the cheese and gravy!  Man, this stuff is good!

I think the kiddie plate was appropriate for this meal.

Go to Murchphy's in Bartlesville and you can get a hot hamburger with a hamburger patty on french toast topped with french fries & brown gravy! Yum!! White gravy & Braum's french fries are good too!

No shame in gravy mix....I use it all the time if I'm not making a roast.....

Yes, you can buy cheese curds in the specialty case at Crest. But I think next time i will just use shredded cheddar.

Looks good! Years ago there was a place in Lawton called "Calico County" that served white gravy with fries. They called them "Wets". They were so good, and I'm sure they used packaged gravy, too! :) They have GF gravy mixes now, so we've used those some. I can make gravy, but sometimes add the mixes to them, especially when feeding the football or basketball teams and need a lot!
