LOSING 15 BY 50...

That is my goal! (Yes, I live by catchy phrases) This summer I will be turning the big 5-0, so that is some motivation for me to buckle down, eat right, and lose this annoying extra weight I've been carrying around!  I have established a pretty good exercise routine, so I know that's really not my problem.  I just love to eat, and I eat too much.

Another big  motivator is that both my boys will have graduations this year - college and high school - Woohoo!  You can bet there will be lots of picture taking going on, so I want to look good!  So those may be vain reasons but at least they are making me serious about this stuff...

One of my "tricks" that I've come up with after scouring Pinterest for ideas is this jar.  I found inspirational sayings and put them on there to remind me to have patience and that it will be worth it!   I get $$ daily for losing and maintaining that loss - of course I have to take $$ out if I gain.  At the end of the month it will be fun money to spend!  You might think it's funny that a few dollars would motivate me, but it's more of a daily reminder and I'm really wanting to fill it up.  It's a game I want to win - by losing!

So, no bringing me brownies this week...or any other time in the future...

Results Fitness & Nutrition once told us that 80% of weight loss is what you eat (or don't eat). You are already a great example on the 20% that is exercise! And with the encouragement of your daughter, you've already identified ways you can change your eating that will affect that other 80%. You are great at setting and achieving goals in many areas of your life, and I know you can do this too (although I am not sure you need to lose 15 pounds!). Go for it!

This is day 5 of "No flour, no sugar" and just healthier meals for the family. Usually the 2nd day is the hardest, but this time it was the 3rd. The little chocolate covered pretzels looked really good! But I resisted..... I've found that when I pray about eating healthier, He helps me. The SAD part is, that if I'm honest, sometimes I wouldn't pray for it when I need to, because I didn't want to!
