I LOVE TECHNOLOGY...
It keeps our family connected! Seems to me many a Sunday afternoon is spent with the boys skyping (sp?) Hey, is that word even in the dictionary? Anyway, it's become kind of a tradition on Sunday afternoons for the boys to skype their big sis at college. They've even held the phone up to the computer screen and let her answer our friendly telemarketer in Oklahoma from her dorm room in Arkansas. That was a hoot! Anyway, a fun way for them to keep in touch...and I can see if she's keeping her room clean!!!

PROM PANCAKE PROPOSAL
Wow! Teenage boys sure are creative nowadays!!! Here's how it went down last weekend:
11:00 p.m. "Dad, can I have some friends over for pancakes tomorrow morning?"
11:01 p.m. "Sure, son."
9:00 a.m. Teenage son is up and out the door to pick up a friend, and run to Walmart for blueberry syrup and biscuits. Yes, more PILLSBURY biscuits! This is serious!
9:45 a.m. Teenage son and friend return with the goods.
9:46 a.m. "Do you want me to cook the pancakes or are you two going to do it?" says Mom.
9:48 a.m. "Uh...we might need some help!"
9:48:30 Mom helps with the measuring
9:49 a.m. Dad to the rescue with sausage and starts scrambled eggs too!
10:10 a.m. Friends arrive
10:11 a.m. The giant prom pancake is made!
10:15 a.m. The prom pancake proposal is made and she says "YES!"
10:16 a.m. Applause, Applause!

A MOM'S WORST NIGHTMARE...
Imagine the thoughts going through my head when I found this receipt with some change on my 17yr. old's bedroom floor!!! PILLS, PILLS, PILLS!!!!!!!! Pills - what kind? March 7 - so he's been taking drugs how long? Pills .88 for a 4 pk? What could this be? I'm going crazy! I show my husband. He gets on the computer and tries to decipher the product code. He says he can't be making much money selling these! AAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHHH! You think he's selling these? He tells me I can go to Walmart and find out what exactly it is.....and then it dawns on me. PILLS, a 4 pk for .88 has to be a PILLSBURY product. Real medicine would have another name on the receipt, not pills, duh! In fact, I do remember now that he was here with friends recently and they decided they wanted to go to a friend's house and make biscuits. WHEW! Mystery solved.

$1.54
Yes, I got it all for $1.54! I have always been a fan of couponing. Being a stay-at-home Mom makes it necessary, in my opinion. Personally, I love the challenge of saving without running all over town or buying items you wouldn't necessarily use. Anyway, I've been following a couple of blogs about this and recently have been introduced to the world of CVS Extra Care Bucks. I used them occasionally since we use CVS for our prescription medicines, but had never shopped there on a weekly basis, until recently. Read more about it on "Keeping the Kingdom First." She is awesome! She issues a CVS $5 challenge each Sunday and others comment on how to get the best deals. Here's what I did today:
Transaction #1:
Irish Spring Body Wash
2- 4oz. Wheat Thins
I used $5 Extra Care Bucks I made from last week, 1 coupon for Irish Spring, 1 coupon for Wheat Thins, so my final cost was $.64, and I made $4.99 in ECB's from the purchase of the Irish Spring.
Transaction #2
2 boxes of Band-Aids
I used $4.99 Extra Care Bucks I just made on transaction #1, and 2 coupons for Band-Aids. It cost me $.90, and I made $3 in ECB's from the purchase of Band-Aids to use next week.
So, today I actually spent $1.54 in cold hard cash. Little things make me happy! :)

You too, can own a pair of these lovely but SHORT-LIVED SHOES! Made by my son for "The RAVE," all you need is a pair of flip-flops (he can't stand it when I call them thongs!), duct tape, and glow sticks! Tape them up to fit your foot and create shoes! No one will step on your toes when you wear these babies!

SHE SAYS IT'S A BIG DEAL...
so I believe her! Nope, we're not talking about her major or her special friend or her future. We're talking about the club jersey. Everyone wears them every Friday, so now she's a part of the sea of college kids wearing Greek letters on their shirts! I'm just glad she is enjoying college life and in a Christian environment. Thanks, God!
