Sometimes as a wife and mother, it's just better to keep your mouth shut...
Today my husband and son #2 bought a car from a relative, who will remain unnamed, for $300. Yes, $300. Needs just a little work. Uh-huh. Yeah. Only took them 4 times to jump it to get it going and bring it over here. Yay.
Father and son checking everything out.
A standard transmission...this kid will love that!
Radio stolen and dash messed up...
interior door parts missing...
speaker ripped out...
just a missing door handle, no problem...and those are just the cosmetic things to be done!
Somehow this makes him extremely happy! Check in a few months and we'll see how happy he is about this PROJECT. As for me, I'm just keeping my mouth shut.

Oh my goodness. My Dad totally bought me an OLD BMW when I was 16. I was mortified at the time but now I wish I had that awesome thing.
This made me laugh! Have fun Dan and Dawson!!
Wow! I'll be checking for updates on the project!! I'm impressed. Did your other 2 get fixer-uppers too?
And Collin only has the Hogwarts castle made of Legos but he wants Diagon Alley (only $150, 1/2 the price of Dawson's car!!!) for Christmas.
No Alyssa, we got the others a clunker gas hog but from the same relative! Had to get little repairs along the way but nothing too bad. This is a different ball game, and of course, a different kid, who likes to tinker.
I might need to see if your relative has any good deals like that in a year or so.
Good luck to Dan and Dawson!
HAHA! My dad did the same thing to me. However, mine was a Jeep Wagoneer. My dad spent $1500 on the car/tank; and I would wager that my parents spent close to $3,000 on repairs. My mom was so happy when the thing finally died! She said it was making her broke with the repairs and gas.
