So I've made birthday cakes thru the years, and my kids loved them, but I never got to take that Wilton class I always said I was going to take. Now that my kids are 20, 18, and 14, I'm not sure if I'll ever take it....but here is an adorable EASY cake I found recently on Made by Melissa
. Really fun and really cute! It was a big hit!

okay, so I tried to link it to the blog I found it on, but failed....if you want to see instructions, go to http://madebymel.wordpress.com/
That is my kind of cake. Those are kit kats, right? So cute.
Robin, that cake looks like something out of a magazine! What happens when you cut it, and does it taste as good as it looks?
As another creatively-challenged mom, I can recommend the birthday party books we used...The Penny Whistle Party Planner, The Penny Whistle Birthday Party Book, The Disney Party Handbook, and The Children's Party Handbook. Parties at home are so much fun, and these books have great ideas for party activities as well as fun cakes you can make yourself. Lindsay's friends still talk about the birthday parties she had in elementary school :)
That looks great! I love it! I have also had the Wilton class on my to-do list but still haven't taken it. I'll have to look up the website!
I love it! It's so cute! I'll have to be looking for a cute cake to make for Baby M's first birthday, if we still have her, I hope we do!
I love your cake. It looks very festive. I would like to take the Wilton class also. As Jemma get older I thought about taking it with her. Katie's Cakes came and did a demonstration to Jemma's girl scout troop, and she has fallen in love with cake decorating.
SO VERY CUTE!!!! But, you are definitely NOT creatively-challenged at all :).
love this cake! it looks so professional.
Robin, that's so cute. You're talented.
